Important Update Regarding BackerKit Surveys

Hello again!
We hope you’re all having a fun comic-filled Summer! We’re reaching out today to let you know that in the near future, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s ESSENTIAL to respond to your survey as quickly as possible so that we can send you your rewards.
We use Backerkit’s Pledge Manager to send out surveys to backers so that we can keep track of your rewards and your shipping information. Having backers fill out this survey helps us ensure that everything is shipped promptly and correctly.
You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the survey invite email, click the link to answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase any add-on items that jump out at you. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but keep your eyes out for an email coming soon!
These surveys are a great opportunity to add another Snuggles to your collection or to pick one up for any friends who missed out on the ESSENTIALS campaign!
If you need to make any changes to your survey responses, don’t worry. You can go back later and change your answers at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.
If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email address associated with your Facebook account.
If you don’t receive the email after it’s sent out, and you signed in with Apple ID, your email address might be a private relay email address.

Hello again, everyone!
We hope the Spring has been treating you well, and that you’ve been able to enjoy good weather, good times, and good comics!
We’ve been hard at work here at THE LAB PRESS and wanted to share some exciting news with you all. ESSENTIALS is at the printer as we type this! After a lot of hard work, we can’t wait to share this beautiful book with all of you. Luckily, it’ll be here soon. We’re expecting to receive our unbound proof copies next week, and we are on track for our Kickstarter backers to get their rewards this Summer!

If you’re in LA this week, be sure to head to the Barnes and Noble at The Grove on Wednesday, June 12. ESSENTIALS writer Doc Wyatt will be moderating a Q&A with legendary Star Wars novelist Alan Dean Foster to celebrate his latest book, STUART.
STUART tells the outlandish story of a woman whose dog is transformed into a human, and the zany adventure they embark on.

THE LAB PRESS’s Nicholas Kalikow and Mike Zagari celebrated the success of the ESSENTIALS campaign at the Lake Como Comic Art Festival this weekend alongside Glenn Fabry, DaNi, Bill Sienkiewicz, and a host of other world-renowned artists. It’s always a joy to connect with creators and fans at these events! Hopefully we’ll get to see you at the next show!

Looking ahead, we’re happy to report that the book will be heading to the printer next month. That means that, barring any unforeseen delays, we’ll have ESSENTIALS in our warehouse the last week of July or the first week of August and will be on track to send books to backers by the end of August. We’ll keep you all posted as things progress!

Today is the final day of our ESSENTIALS Kickstarter campaign. It’s been a pleasure getting to share our publishing debut with you all, and we are incredibly grateful for your support. Publishing a graphic novel with six different interior artists is quite an undertaking, and it’s been gratifying to see folks as excited about it as we are.

Earlier this week, Jason Howard spoke with Fanbase Press’ Barbra Dillon about his exhilarating art in ESSENTIALS. He explained that “The concept sparks lots of creative ideas! But my part of the story focused on the more grounded elements, so for me it was about making the reality of Harris’ journey feel relatable and solid, so we can see where he came from and what he’s fighting to save.”
